This new service, offered exclusively to members at no charge, utilizes advanced technology enabling members to network throughout the year.

“Association surveys consistently find that members find networking to be the top value of membership,” stated ADS CEO Scott D. Parker. “In the past, networking through ADS generally happened at our in-person events. While the networking at ADS events are amazing, not every member can attend each of our events and the events only last a few days. Now, ADS members will be able to stay connected throughout the year.”

What is ADS 24/7?

ADS 24/7 is a digital member collaboration platform to promote networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration among ADS members.

ADS 24/7 features a full membership directory with 1,500 industry leaders across the globe. Members can search the directory for all members, service members only or vendors only. The service and vendor directories have filters so you can locate those you want to connect with easily. Members can add others as contacts within the system and send a message though ADS 24/7.

ADS 24/7 also features various communities that members can connect with one another, compare notes, exchange information, post questions, share knowledge and experiences. There are two ways to interact with the communities. Members can post questions and receive answers by logging into the website or they can simply send an email to a custom email address. Both will create a log of the information to store so other members can search the system on that in the future. Each committee has its own community. In addition, the initial set of ADS communities members can join include:

· Drive-In Service Forum

· Test Bench Support Group

· Turbo Talk

· Latin American Forum

· Australasian Forum

· EMEA Forum (Europe, Middle East & Africa)

Additional communities will be added in the future. His story of courage, teamwork and perseverance will inspire attendees as they come together to focus on the future of the diesel service industry.

“ADS is thrilled that Matt Eversmann will kick off our annual convention,” stated Scott D. Parker, ADS CEO. “His incredible story illustrates the importance of duty, courage and selfless service to succeed when ordinary circumstances become extraordinary challenges. He will provide the perfect message for the 300 diesel service leaders in attendance who face their own challenges.”

Eversmann keynote is titled “Strategic Shock: Leadership Lessons for Business from Black Hawk Down”.

The business world, regardless of industry, is filled with uncertainty, chaos and the unexpected. This is the same for companies in the aftermarket diesel service industry. Welcome to the “Urban Battlefield.” Strip away the drama of gun fights and the frustration of Murphy's Law, the lessons learned from battle during Black Hawk Down are directly applicable to leaders at all levels of business. There is no business plan to help leaders avoid 'Strategic Shock', but this story of elite Army Ranger teams with high standards, solid leadership, followership and teamwork will get the conversation started. If you lead, manage and deliver, this presentation is for you. This is a war story like no other.

The 2026 event will feature hands-on training, business sessions, and many opportunities for networking and sharing ideas. This event is widely recognized as one of the most brazen acts of terrorism by al Qaeda prior to September 11, 2001.

The privilege and burden of leadership comes with a level of accountability that many aspire to emulate, and anyone can rise up to and achieve. Using a devastating suicide terrorist attack as a backdrop, Commander Kirk Lippold conveys how the principle of integrity created a diverse and inclusive environment for leadership where his crew felt imbued with a sense of ownership, seizing the opportunity to be responsible for their ship and not just their jobs. Their own sense of personal accountability and leadership proved to be a guiding principle in the crucible of combat. Lippold shares why his "Five Pillars of Leadership" are must-have business tenets for any team.

With the trend of certain OEMs focus away from diesel internal combustion engines to alternative technologies, there is often a lack of OE aftermarket technical solutions for diesel product remanufacturing. This creates an opportunity for aftermarket remanufacturing utilizing technical reverse engineering back to OE quality standards. This session will explore the scope of reverse engineering required, covering special tooling, component parts design/manufacture, test bench development, coding solutions and validation. The session will feature a case study of a non-OE supported remanufactured product which was launched with extensive reverse engineering. Attendees will learn best reverse engineering practices to take back to their shop.

Several factors supported the decision, including a recent comprehensive survey of past HDAW attendees and careful monitoring of pandemic conditions by HDAW 2021 organizers. Ultimately, considering the current realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, HDAW 2021 organizers made the decision as the safest option for all industry attendees and partners.

The virtual conference will feature traditional HDAW opening sessions with the HDAW 2021 co-chairs and a comprehensive conference program that will provide highly useful information on doing business in the current environment. The conference will feature education workshops including SOLD! (Service Opportunities & Learning Day), designed for distributors with service and repair technicians. Additionally, the highly popular pre-scheduled One-on-One meetings between distributor and supplier executives will also be held 100% virtual as part of HDAW 2021.
ADS members receive major savings to post job listings or to purchase access to resumes in the job bank. To obtain member pricing, members should use their same username and password they use for the diesel.org member access. Members who use this new service for just a few job searches will likely save more than the cost of their annual membership.

Benefits to Tech School Members/Job Seekers
ADS provides free membership to nearly one hundred partner trade schools. Other qualified trade schools should contact ADS for a free membership.

The ADS partner technical training schools and others will be able to have their students and alumni post resumes at no cost.
HDAW 2020 to Incorporate ADS Convention & Trade Show

Gainesville, VA – August 6, 2019 – The Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS) is proud to announce an agreement with the owners of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) to incorporate the ADS annual convention and tradeshow into HDAW, beginning January 2020.

ADS has been a sponsor organization since the initial HDAW in 2006. With the move to the new location to Dallas, TX for 2020, there is enough space for ADS to exhibit and hold meetings within the week of HDAW. ADS can take advantage of the common elements of the education program, Product Expo, and industry-wide networking and dining events while preserving the member-specific elements of their annual member meeting.

“ADS, its board, and its members are thrilled at the prospect of an enhanced participation level at HDAW,” said Laura Rountree, president of ADS (www.diesel.org) and president of Industrial Diesel, Inc. “HDAW provides our members with increased business and educational opportunities. We look forward to full participation at the Gaylord Texan in January – the venue provides ADS with ample space to hold our membership meetings, including committee meetings, technical sessions, and a great HDAW program for our members to improve their businesses.”

“The owners of HDAW, CVSN, HDDA/AutoCare, and HDMA/MEMA see significant industry value from further engagement in the event, with ADS deciding to hold their annual membership meeting as part of HDAW, beginning with HDAW 2020 in Texas,” stated owner representative Tim Kraus of HDMA. “Our expanded space and flexibility offered with the new venue of the Gaylord Texan will greatly enhance everyone’s HDAW experience; ADS joining into the week is a positive thing for the independent aftermarket.”

Since its inception in 2006, HDAW has served as a platform for several industry associations to collaborate on a common week of similar events in one main conference while preserving their individual member-specific meeting functions in the days preceding HDAW’s opening. This has been a successful formula for several organizations that has allowed each to thrive in a competitive environment for members’ time. It has provided for an annual gathering of the independent channel of the heavy duty aftermarket and fostered considerable growth for both suppliers and distributors.

Association of Diesel Specialists Announces Technical Training at 2019 Convention

Gainesville, VA – May 2019 - The Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS) announces two technical training classes during the 2019 Convention and Trade Show, to be held July 29 - August 2, 2019 in Orlando, Florida. The technical training sessions will be in the morning and afternoon on Tuesday, July 30.

These classes will be available to registered convention attendees for only $25 per class and will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel.

The first class, “Cummins 5.9L & 6.7L Common Rail Diesel,” will be taught by Wally Mouradian of Automotive Training Group (ATG). This class was designed specifically to give a clear diagnostic path for engine management and emissions concerns. Bosch fuel systems and Cummins engines come together to create some confusing (and often invisible) Dodge/Ram repair information. Cummins designed the engines, but Dodge wrote the repair information. Very little practical diagnostic information was ever published, and what there is, lacks any explanation of the purpose of each test, or a clear direction to go with the results. This class will fill in those gaps and provide the training necessary to solve difficult problems and provide proper maintenance.

With discussion of diesel exhaust make-up, aftertreatment system history, federal emission standards, theory and operation. The class will provide a detailed analysis on individual system components and sub-systems including: Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR). Other topics will include system troubleshooting and diagnosis, and tips for component servicing and cost saving preventive maintenance, as well as future systems discussion. A full color class manual (50+ pages) will be given to each student.

The Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS) is helping drive business to its service members and their branches.

The all-new, member only “Find A Diesel Repair Shop” provides a geo-locator service that lists all ADS service, diesel service and branch members. The basic listing is free for members. Starting at just $60/year, members can add a logo to their listing to drive even more business to their shop.

The locator service has a new filter feature that allows customers looking for a quality repair shop to locate ADS members that offer drive-in service and/or the ADS Nationwide Warranty. In addition, users can filter results by Authorized Service Locations.

As an added benefit to members, ADS has registered the domain name DieselRepair.Shop which will be built over the next few months. This site will feature the interactive map as well as the important reasons why potential customers should choose an ADS member shop.

Also, ADS will be promoting this site and seeking partnerships with related to trade groups to gain more exposure for members.

“ADS is committed to helping our members grow their business,” stated ADS Association Manager Scott D. Parker. “This locator map is a powerful tool that will allow the association to provide even great value to its membership.”

The association is adding Search Engine Optimization and analytics to the site to maximize traffic to ADS members.
