Pahrump Valley Winery

Nevada, with thousands of acres of barren desert, may seem like a strange place to have vineyards, and for most of the state that would be true. However, a small group of pioneers are making real progress in select areas and with certain grape varietals. While Nevada may never become another Napa Valley, we are proving every day that with patience, care, and yes, a little luck it can be done!

Pahrump Valley Winery, located just a one hour drive from Las Vegas, paved new roads into the mountains of Nevada and minds that didn’t believe the desert could ever produce vineyards or wine. Opened in 1990, owners Bill and Gretchen Loken like to say they “brought gold to the silver state.” It is now Nevada’s leading producer of Nevada Grown Wines, with over 300 wine awards to cheer about.

This informal tour will include transportation, tour of winery, wine tasting and lunch in Symphony Restaurant, named after their gold medal-winning wine.
